Anyway Jega's Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kayode Idowu, denied this idiom his supervisor was occupied with planning for the general elections shedule to be held on the 28th of next month.
He said, "Jega is caught up with getting ready for the races and you are talking of terminal leave. Does anyone planning to conduct elections go on terminal leave? There is nothing like that.”
Idowu had in a meeting on a TV observed in Lagos, on Tuesday, said Jega's arrangement was not guided by common administration guidelines and would serve until the end of his residency on June 30.
He said the delay of the decisions would greatly improve the situation readied for the races planned for March 28 and April 11.
Idowu additionally denied the report that Jega had surrendered his arrangement because of weight from the Presidency.
Idowu said, "No, that is (acquiescence) is not genuine, he has not surrendered. He didn't leave. It is a simple gossip."
Essentially, the minority pioneer of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, said Jega couldn't be asked to go on a terminal leave in light of the fact that he was not a civil servant.
He said, "I don't consider the Chairman of INEC as a civil servant subject to common administration leads the same route I, as an individual from the House of Representatives, is not a civil servant. There is a distinction between a civil servant and a public servant or officer. Jega falls under the last."
